Tri-State Bird Rescue and Research, Inc. is offering summer internships in wildlife rehabilitation during the 2024 nesting bird season. A limited number of full-season (12 week) internships with stipends are available. Full season, six-week and part-time internships without stipends are also offered.

Interns work in the Wild Bird Clinic and along with the permanent staff care for the hatching year and adult birds admitted during the summer.  Full season interns are expected to contribute 40+ hours / week for a minimum of 12 weeks.  Internships are scheduled between mid-May and August 31; actual start and stop dates are approximate and flexibility with early or late start dates may be possible (especially for University’s ending in late May). Part-time, non-stipend, 20+ hours/week (2x 10hr days/week) positions are also available.

Tri-State is a federally licensed, nonprofit organization with over 46 years of experience in oiled wildlife response and wild bird rehabilitation.  The Wild Bird Clinic is open 365 days a year and treats 3,500 native injured and orphaned wild birds annually. Tri-State’s Oiled Wildlife Response Team conducts oil spill response training workshops, develops wildlife contingency plans, and is on call 24 hours a day to provide care for contaminated wildlife.
