TUVU release 17-347

A concerned citizen found this adult Turkey Vulture on the ground in their back yard in New Castle. It was in distress and could not extend its right wing. It also had abrasions on its legs. After the citizen contacted us, one of our volunteers captured and transported the raptor to our facility. The skilled care given by our clinic staff and dedicated volunteers led to this adult vulture’s health being restored and eventual release at Tri-State. As the newly released vulture spiraled up into the sky, a kettle of local resident vultures joined this former patient high in the air. It was a sight those who witnessed will not soon forget.
